Library Happenings

Henning School

There has been so much fun happening in the library!

The PSEO (High School taking College Classes students) have been creating cars out of recycled boxes, plastic and paper. Because college classes do not begin again until after January 6, these students have time on their hands to create. Each student could choose what they wanted to have their “car” look like and what materials to use for it. These cars will be able to have a child sit in them during special story time.  It is so fun to be able to watch the students create.  Because they are on their chromebooks most of the time for classes, it is fun for them to be able to cut, glue, color, draw, and imagine.

While Christmas break for school was taking place, our custodial staff was busy in the library closing in a door way that wasn’t needed. It was replaced with slat wall pieces that we had left over from another slat wall installation. This allows for the youngest of our students to be able to see their choice of books facing forward. This is a wonderful edition to our ever improving library.

I can not say enough how we would love to see you come up to the library and check out our space. Our library is a public library as well as a school library and there is no cost to our patrons to check out books.

We are open on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m., but you are welcome to come to the district office doors any time during the day to make entrance to the library. We hope 2025 will find you stepping into our library.
