A pair of Otter Tail Central wrestlers placed second at the annual Dennis Kaatz Memorial wrestling girls tournament on Saturday.
Eighth grader Jolene Fosse picked up a pair of pins in the opening two rounds to, including a pin in just 41 seconds in her semi-final match, advance to the championship match at 118 lbs. In the championship she fell to eventual champion Dawnie Hobrecht of United North Central by a fall at the 51 second mark of her match to take second place.
At 136 lbs,, Kayetana Lopez-Moen secured a pin over Addison Hillukka of Wadena-Deer Creek at the 55 second mark of the match to advance to the championship where she faced off against Molly Ferguson of Thief River Falls. In a tight match throughout the contest, Ferguson was able to secure a pin late in the third period to win the championship as Lopez-Moen captured second place.
At 130 lbs., Grace Thorp took third place after picking up three pins on the day, including a pin at the 1:53 mark of her third place match against Alora Green of Thief River Falls.
Other wrestlers who placed include: Ella Rich who took fourth place at 124 lbs., Alyssa Witt who took fifth place at 130 lbs., Ella Horn who took fifth place at 142 lbs. and Ava Rousu who took fourth place at 155 lbs.
