Henning to host Pillager on Tuesday in regular season finale

The Henning Hornets only had one game last week, it was a non-conference game against Battle Lake.

The Hornets were hoping to get back off the losing streak, but the Battlers played solid volleyball and defeated Henning 3-0. The Hornets struggled from the start of the game. The team could not serve receive the ball to the target, which resulted in too many easy balls given to the Battlers, and with the Battlers’ strong hitters this was tough on Henning.

“If we are on the defensive end of the game, it is not good for us. We need to start with a good pass and try to get our hitters hitting the ball aggressively,” said head coach Kristy Finck.

On the night the Hornets were led by Bella Olson with 8 kills and 17 digs. Alivia Emter had 7 kills, 12 digs and serve received 94 percent to the target. Cambrie Johnson led the team in assists with 21, and Myiesha Antoni led the team with 2 blocks.

The Hornets have two regular season games left. On Monday they travel to Parkers Prairie and Tuesday they host Pillager. The sub section tournament will get underway next week.
