James Myrvold was born on June 22, 1953, to Robert & Ruth Ann (Haiwick) Myrvold in Minneapolis, Minn. He grew up on the Family Farm rural Clitherall, attending Vining Elementary School. He graduated from Catalina High School with the class of 1971. He entered the United States Marines traveling all over the world, serving his country honorably as an MP.

Jim’s love of travel and adventure continued after his honorable discharge from the Marines. His favorite continent to visit was Africa, traveling also to Norway, and Jerusalem. But his favorite place to be was on the farm in rural Clitherall.

Jim was hilarious, fun loving, made a lot of Dad jokes, and was a great storyteller. He had a good heart, known as a gentle giant, and would do anything for anyone in need. Jim enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, thrifting, wearing Hawaiian shirts, cigars, Westerns, and collecting guns. He made gingersnap cookies for everyone at Christmas, and was known for his BBQ Hamburgers, and Chili Colorado.  Jim’s best friend was his dog Abby who was one of his biggest loves.

Deeply loved, Jim’s passing will be mourned by his children: Matt (Chris) Myrvold, Amy (Ronald Smith) Myrvold, Tina (Matt Schellenberg) Myrvold; grandchildren: Kamden, Kenzie, Colt and Chase, Jalen, Jordan and Justin; brother Doug (Kathy) Myrvold; ex-wife Claudia Myrvold; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

James is preceded in death by his parents, and aunt Judy Haiwick.
