Defending state semi-finalists to open season on the road

The Otter Tail Central football team is returning to action after an exciting season in 2023. Last season the Bulldogs finished with a record of 11-1 overall and advanced to the 9-man state semi-finals. Their lone loss of the season came to Nevis by a score of 36-0 at US Bank Stadium.
The Bulldogs will be returning four seniors that were on a part of the 2023 state semi-finalist team. Seniors Max Mekalson, Teigan Bjerke, AJ Jones and Elijiah Fronning will be captaining the team.
Juniors expecting to contribute to the team are William Schwartz, Steven Mills, Jack Thormandson, Taden Soma, Junior Faaaliga, Braxton Camerson, Jacob Menze, Andrew Suchy and Anthony Rousu.
Head coach Eric Olson said the Bulldogs will need sophomores Billy Durbin, Memphis Nelson and Todd Bjerke to add some depth.
OTC will open their second ever season playing 9-man football in Goodridge on Thursday night at 6 p.m. They are scheduled to host Underwood on Friday, Sept. 6 in Henning in their home opener.
