The annual Landmark Corn, Brat and Burger Feed is scheduled for this Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Landmark Center. Please join us for free-will meal including fresh sweet corn from Buehler’s, grilled brats and burgers by Chef Doug, chips and beverage. We will have some silent auction items, live music by Darren Quam and root beer floats. Come celebrate late summer with friends and neighbors at Landmark.
Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. is Market Day at the Landmark Station. New vendors are welcomed to join the morning event. Please call 548-5760 to register as a new vendor.
A five day pottery workshop hosted by artist Mimi Seykora will be offered at the Landmark Station. Dates are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 3, 5, 10, 12 and 17. Spacing of classes will allow for drying time and kiln firing. Participants have the option to use wheel throwing, hand building, or slab construction to create multiple ceramic artworks of their choice. Space is limited to eight participants, so please call the Landmark Center soon to register.
Fargo Artist Jon Offutt will return to the Landmark Center with his portable Glass Blowing studio for free demonstrations September 20-21, six demos on Friday and six on Saturday. Each demo lasts about 40-minutes and allows you to watch up close the creation of two pieces step by step, taken from molten glass to finished artwork.
“This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from Lake Region Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.”
The Landmark Center is available for public and private meetings, family gatherings, reunions, receptions, workshops, and has five retreat bedrooms on our second floor, with space for up to 10 overnight guests. We provide free community Wi-Fi indoors and outdoors, a Smartroom connection for meetings, changing art exhibits, and a collection of local history artifacts.
