There have been several changes happening in the library since mid-January.  

Before our 10th through 12th graders returned to school full time I knew that I wanted to change the decor in the library to be updated to what is referred to as the modern farmhouse look.  

My daughters Courtney and Stephanie helped me to pick out multiple items that could change the overall appearance. We had such a great time shopping for unique items that would be interesting enough to pull your eye to them. We spent several days scouring Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, thrift stores, and our own homes to put the new look together.  

My goal was to have the library ready for when the Post Secondary Students returned to us full time. The first thing that had to be done was “weeding” out worn and dilapidated books. This process was the most time consuming, but I was able to stay on task knowing that when it was complete, the new look would be able to be put in place.  

My daughters and I spent the weekend, before students returned, in the library, painting bookshelves, moving books around, and placing the modern farmhouse items in place. We had so much fun working on this project and couldn’t wait for the students to get to school.  

Many of the students and staff have expressed the beauty that is found in the library and how inviting it feels. Just as it changed before me, it too will change again as the years go by.  I am not done working on the wish list for updating the library and I hope that as the changes come along that the students and staff will continue to enjoy them as much as I do.  

Please find yourself coming up to the library to check out our space. We have over 22,000 cataloged books, cd’s, magazines, reference materials, etc for you to choose from and we would love to share a cup of hot tea with you. 

Our library is open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons following the school calendar. We hope to see you soon.
