Henning High School sophomore Myiesha Antoni, who competes for the Otter Tail Central track and field team, will be making a trip to the state track and field meet this week. She will be joined by senior Mason Dalluge and freshman Kinley Bormann who also qualified for state in both the triple and long jump.

This is the first time Antoni has qualified for state after she took second place at the section meet with a jump of 5’1” and enters the state meet seeded eighth.

In just his second year in track, Dalluge is making his second straight trip to state as he missed placing at state last year by just one inch. At the section meet he broke the school record in the long jump with a jump of 22’3 1/2” on his way to winning the meet. He was also section champion in the triple jump with a personal best of 44’4”. He enters the state meet as the second seed in the long jump and first seed in the triple jump.

Bormann placed ninth last year at the state meet in the long jump and has taken first place 17 times out of 20 chances in the triple and long jump. She took first place in the section meet in the long jump with a jump of 17’6” and set a new section record in the triple jump with a jump of 37’3”. She enters the state meet seeded second in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.

“We are super proud of our qualifiers this year, they have shown up everyday with the mindset to get better. Getting to the state meet is only just the start, these athletes have big goals and aren’t going to be satisfied with just making it to state. We are excited to see them compete for state championships and represent the OTC community,” said head coach Brady Speicher.

The Class A state meet will kick off on Thursday afternoon with the preliminary competition and will wrap up on Friday afternoon with the finals. The Class AA and Class AAA finals will be held on Saturday. The state meet will be held at St. Michael-Albertville High School.
