Members of the Otter Tail County Employee’s Committee shared with county commissioners that the United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena Counties presented Otter Tail County with the “Shining Star” Award.
This award is presented to one entity, public or private, that has gone above and beyond to support the community, working to improve lives locally.
Otter Tail County was among the Top 10 Employee Campaigns in 2023 that raised a total of $70,230 for the United Way programs of Otter Tail and Wadena counties.
County accountant position approved
A motion by County Commissioner Lee Rogness of Fergus Falls and seconded by Commissioner Dan Bucholz of Perham was unanimously carried to approve a 1.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) accountant within the Otter Tail County Auditor-Treasurer’s Department.
The new accountant will also fill a need for additional accounting support for Otter Tail County as well as reporting requirements for the Prairie Lakes Municipal Solid Waste Authority in Perham, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority and the Community Development Agency.
