Funeral services were held for Tony Anderson age 62 of Vining, on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Belmont-Karvonen Funeral Home in Henning, with Pastor Chantell Lankford officiating. Tony will be laid to rest at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Camp Ripley, in Fergus Falls. 

Tony Allen Anderson was born on October 27, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minn.  His parents are Delores Marie (Olson) Herbranson and the late Virgil Anderson. 

In 1963 the Anderson family moved from Minneapolis to Henning. Tony attended Henning High School and excelled in football. He graduated from the Henning High School with the Class of 1977. Tony proudly served in the United States Air Force from February 1, 1978 to January 31, 1982. While in the United States Air Force, Tony enjoyed touring throughout Europe. He then resided in Minneapolis, Minn., and was employed with the phone company. 

Tony moved to Jacksonville, Flor., where he was employed as a mail manager. He also attended University of Florida and obtained his bachelor’s degree in business. He moved to Pinellas Park where he was employed with Pinellas County. 

In 2018 Tony moved back home to Vining, where he enjoyed spending time with his mother and remodeling her home. Tony enjoyed his dogs, riding motorcycle, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He loved to mentor his nieces and nephews and was a Godfather to Jillian Hobbs. 

On March 27, 2021 Tony passed away at his home at 62 years of age.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  Preceding Tony in death was his father, Virgil. 

Tony is survived by his loving mother, Delores Herbranson of Vining; sister, Kathryn Avinger and brother, Michael (Sandy) Anderson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
