During a special city council meeting last week the Henning City Council officially approved listing the city-owned Willow Creek Assisted Living Facility for sale with a broker. The council said it would like to see the facility continue to be used as an assisted living facility even if it is sold.

The City of Henning will look into the possibility of selling the city-owned Willow Creek Assisted Living facility.

During a special meeting on Tuesday night, the Henning City Council discussed an offer it received to purchase the assisted and independent living facility. Immediately after opening the meeting the city council approved a motion to explore the potential sale of the facility.

After moving forward with the possibility of selling the facility the city council went into a closed session to discuss the proposal.

The city council ultimately decided not to accept the proposal to sell the facility as presented, but did agree to list the facility with a licensed broker to give the city council an idea of the overall value of the assisted and independent living facility, should another offer come to fruition.

During the open portion of the meeting, several city council members expressed a desire to see the facility continue to be used as an assisted living facility, or extended care facility, even if it is sold in the future. Several council members said doing so could weigh in on the ultimate decision about whether to sell or keep the facility.
