Veterans and their families will take center stage during the annual Veterans Day program at Henning School on Friday. The program will be held at 1 p.m. at the Henning School gym and is open to the public.

The day will feature a mixture of songs, tributes and a few special wrinkles to honor the sacrifices and contributions made by local veterans.

Students in grades K-6 will perform a variety of songs during the program, while a number of other students and community members will provide unique ways to honor the contributions made by both the veterans and their families.

Following an expansive concert performance, veterans are invited to attend a pie and coffee gathering at the school. There will also be special parking by the school for veterans who are planning to attend the Veterans Day program. Veterans are also encouraged to check in to the Honor Quilt table to receive a special Honor Quilt if they have not received one in the past.

Those who attend the program are invited to bring an item to donate to the Henning Food Shelf.
