Driver injured after falling asleep near Star Lake

Sheriff deputies, on Aug. 4, said a resident of Deer Creek became the victim of a scam.

The county resident lost $500 after trying to apply for an on-line work-from-home data job. The number used by the scammer turned out to be a non-working Google number.

The Deer Creek resident’s bank was able to stop further illegal transactions.

Driver injuring after falling asleep

One person received minor injuries Aug. 5 after falling asleep and crashing the vehicle near Star Lake, west of Dent. The accident took place just before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 108 and 410th Street.

The vehicle rolled once. The victim was evaluated at the scene of the accident and was transported to an area hospital. The vehicle was towed from the scene of the accident.

Two injured in 4-wheeler accident

Sheriff deputies, on Aug. 5, said two juveniles were injured in a 4-wheeler accident near Highway 210, west of Underwood, close to 5 p.m.

The 4-wheeler rolled. One youth sustained arm pain and the other juvenile suffered leg pain. They both were treated by medical personnel.
