All trails lead to Deer Creek—at least that is the case this weekend. The annual Deer Trails Day celebration will be held on Friday and Saturday night and will once again feature an expanded line up from years past.

The event will kick off on Friday night with the Deer Creek Shockers baseball game at 7:30 p.m., before the second annual fireworks show blasts into the sky following the final out of the game.

A petting zoo will once again highlight a busy day in Deer Creek on Saturday.

On Saturday local residents will be flooding the streets of downtown Deer Creek from sun up until well after the sun goes down in the west.

The day will kick off with a pancake breakfast at the Deer Creek Fire Hall, before a new craft and vendor market will get underway at the old school gym. The craft and vendor market will feature a unique collection of crafts, decor, clothes, jewelry, gourmet food, home and kitchen items, toys, books and much more. The event will also give local residents a chance to relive their “glory days” inside the old school gym.

The parade and kiddie parade will begin at 11 a.m., while the flower show and pie sale will kick off following the parade. The theme for the kiddie parade this year will be tie-dye.

The first medallion clue will be posted at the community center at 12 p.m.

Throughout the afternoon there will be a petting zoo, face painting and balloon animals, youth games, bingo and a variety of bands including Eric’s Dance Band from 12-2 p.m. and Music on Main Street by AC Entertainment from 2-6 p.m.

A youth bean bag toss for children ages 8-12 and 13-17 will be held from 2-3 p.m., while the adult bean bag tournament will get underway at 6 p.m.

Other events on Saturday include a bike raffle, dunk tank and wandering magician.

The day will come to a conclusion when October Road takes the stage from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. in downtown Deer Creek.
