An Otter Tail County Jail inmate was taken to Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls and later transferred to a Fargo hospital after a suicide attempt on Tuesday, June 13, at approximately 6:33 p.m., according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a press release, a corrections officer found an inmate in medical distress during a routine well-being check.

Corrections officers began resuscitative measures until Ringdahl Ambulance of Fergus Falls arrived.

No further information was given on the inmate’s age, gender or condition.

The incident remains under investigation.
