Shadow Edward Broten, age 13 of Henning, passed away on February 26, 2023 at his home.

A family celebration of life will be scheduled at his gravesite after the Spring thaw.

Shadow was a Norwegian Forest Cat, spending his early years exploring the wild terrain South of Henning. In early 2013 he located a Norwegian Flag, adopted his Broten family, and spent the following 11 years working the family farm and caring for family members. He was an avid hunter, although preferred to play more than fight. He loved the outdoors, cool clear Minnesota starry nights, wheelbarrow rides and leaf raking with Nita, fresh-water puddle splashing, tree scratching, fur brushings, cheek tweaking, and belly rubs. He loved to be with people and would follow step by step. He treasured the weekly driveway walk, opting for a return ride on shoulder height. He has gone on to join family and friends, Jane and Al, Dixie, and Winston, and will forever watch over and follow us through our lives. My Shadow.
