Above: The Henning varsity speech team competed at the annual Underwood Lions Invitational on Saturday. Maiya Kodadeck broke to the final round of Creative Expression and placed 6th with her short story “Moderation Council.” Norah Froslee earned Excellence in Humorous Interpretation with her script from the movie “Mean Girls” by Tina Fey. Brenden Weller earned Excellence in Informative Speaking with a speech he wrote about the history of the NFL. Gretchen Mimbach earned Excellence in Prose Interpretation with her script from the short story “This is my Audition Monologue” by Sarah Zarr. Destinie Sweeno earned Superior in Poetry Interpretation with various poems about grief by Amanda Gorman.  Chance Greenwaldt, Jazmine Saari and Raleah Kysar also competed in Discussion, Poetry Interpretation, and Prose Interpretation.

Right: The Henning junior high speech team fared well at the Parkers Prairie junior high meet on Feb 6. Brenden Weller placed fifth in his informative speech about the history of the NFL, while Jazmine Saari earned a superior ranking in discussion.
