With just over a minute remaining in the game and down by five points, things looked pretty grim for the Otter Tail Central Bulldogs on Wednesday night. As Frazee lined up to punt after OTC held them deep in their own territory, the Bulldogs were able to shoot up the middle of the line and blocked the Hornets punt as Marcus Roisum scooped up the ball and returned it eight yards for a touchdown. The touchdown gave OTC the lead and a chance to snap a four game losing streak in their regular season finale.

With approximately one minute remaining in the game, Frazee charged right down the field, before Easton Misegades picked off a pass in the end zone with just seconds remaining on the clock to seal an OTC win and end their season on a high note with a 28-25 victory over Frazee.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring with a seven-yard run by Keaston Thorpe in the first quarter. The two-point conversion was successful to give the Bulldogs an 8-0 lead.

Frazee returned the subsequent kick off 60 yards for the touchdown, but the two-point conversion failed to leave the Bulldogs up 8-6.

Dawson Rogers scored the first of a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter when he scored on an eight-yard run. The two-point conversion failed to leave the Bulldogs up 14-6. Frazee once again quickly answered with a 63-yard bomb from Ean Kilde to Ayden Grossman, but the two-point conversion once again failed to leave OTC up 14-12 at halftime.

The Hornets took the lead in the third quarter when Grossman was on the receiving end of a 90-yard pass from Kilde. The extra point kick was successful to make the score 19-14 in favor of Frazee.

In what turned out to be a wild fourth quarter, Rogers scored on a two-yard run for OTC, but Frazee stopped the two-point conversion to give the Bulldogs a 20-19 lead.

Frazee put together a long drive later in the quarter and answered with a three-yard Mason Mickelson run to make the score 25-20 when the point after kick failed.

After Frazee stopped the Bulldogs and took over deep inside OTC territory, the Bulldogs were able to force a punt with just over a minute remaining in the game. The Bulldogs were able to get a push up the middle and blocked the punt that Roisum picked up and found the end zone to give OTC a 26-25 lead. The two-point conversion was successful to make the score 28-25 in favor of OTC with just under a minute remaining in the game.

The Bulldogs were able to survive a quick passing attack by the Hornets when Misgeades picked off a Frazee pass in the end zone to secure the win for OTC.

As a team, OTC did all of its damage on the ground as they attempted just one pass all game, which was on a two-point conversion. The Bulldogs rushed for 315 yards and were 12-15 on third down attempts. Frazee, on the other hand, passed for 279 yards and rushed for another 43 yards. They went 0-4 on third down and 0-2 on fourth down attempts.

Rogers led the way rushing with 24 attempts for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Thorpe rushed 20 times for 92 yards and a touchdown, while Reece Christensen rushed six times for 32 yards, Trysten Loghry rushed six times for 24 yards and Erik Stans rushed eight times for eight yards.

With the win, OTC finished its regular season with a record of 3-5 overall and received the sixth seed in the section. They will travel to Lake Park-Audubon on Tuesday night. The Raiders received the third seed in the section after finishing with a record of 5-3, LPA defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 31-6 in their only meeting of the season on Sept. 25.

The winner of Tuesday’s game will take on the winner of second seeded Parkers Prairie and seventh seeded Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Saturday at the high seed.
