Six inducted into Fergus Falls Sports Hall of Fame

The Fergus Falls Sports Hall of Fame, commemorating its 40th anniversary this year, inducted six new members on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Fergus Falls VFW.
Inductees for 2026 include Jessica Draper Huebner and Ryan Retzlaff, former M State basketball players; John Hagge, Fergus Falls golfer; Keith Pearson, Fergus Falls High School athlete and FFHS coach, the late town baseball pitcher and city employee Cal Larson; and Tom Hintgen, longtime co-coordinator of the Fergus Falls Sports Hall of Fame.
This hall of fame, started in 1986, is separate from the high school sports hall of fame. Inductees for the Fergus Falls Sports Hall of Fame also include athletes who attended Hillcrest Academy, M State and those participating in other sports such as archery, barefoot water skiing, snowmobiling and trapshooting. The total number of inductees, including this year, is 119.
Criteria for induction into the Fergus Falls Sports Hall of Fame includes “outstanding athletic performance or athletic contributions in Fergus Falls, good citizenship and the betterment of our nation through one’s chosen profession.”
A permanent Fergus Falls Sports Hall of Fame display with photos and inductee names is located at the front foyer near the main office at Kennedy Secondary School.
