Motorcyles stretched the length of Centennial 84 Dr. in New York Mills on Saturday afternoon for the 25th annual Ronald McDonald House RIDE. The motorcycle ride raises money for the Ronald McDonald House and made stops in both Frazee and Wolf Lake, before heading back to New York Mills for the festivities for the rest of the night.

New York Mills has a proud tradition of hosting the world’s largest Ronald McDonald House motorcycle ride. This year was no different as hundreds of motorcycles drove through New York Mills at noon on Saturday.

“A lot of the success of the event comes from the nature of the charity,” said event board member Tina Olson. She believes that helping kids is important to many community members, and that this is a way for people to openly show their support.

In 2025, the Ronald McDonald House of the Red River Valley served over 1,023 families and a total of 3,667 individuals. A sentiment echoed time and time again is that if someone hasn’t directly used the House, they likely know someone who has.

The event has grown steadily over the years, as new members join the ride annually. In Olson’s opinion, it is because of the hard work and dedication of the founding members of the ride, that the event continues to be so successful year after year. She thinks without the first few being so well organized, the event would have struggled to be what it is today.
