The Otter Tail Central golf team competed in the Quad County Conference Golf Meet on Monday, May 18 at Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course.  Still not ideal weather conditions, but the rain held off long enough to get the meet in and allowed the golfers to stay dry. Stella Iliff wasn’t able to go so OTC only had the boys competing this year.

The boys team finished in fourth place out of 10 teams as OTC was 19 strokes behind the championship team of Pillager.  Team scores consisted of the teams best four scores out of a maximum of six golfers.

On the individual side Brayden Martinson found himself in a playoff for sixth place and was able to par the first playoff hole to win and grab that sixth place medal.  Martinson shot a round of 79, which was nine strokes behind the medalist Traeton Nelson’s 70.  Bradon Grabe shot his career low round after returning from an injury with an impressive 80 and an eighth place finish.

All-conference teams were announced at the end of the meet as well.  To earn all-conference honors, golfers best three regular season scores in relationship to the meet’s medalist (Example if the medalist shoots a 72 and another person shoots a 75 they earn a three) are added together with their score at the conference meet the Top 10 girls and the Top 15 boys are named all-conference due to the number difference.

Otter Tail Central golfers making the all-conference team this year were Brayden Martinson and Connor Reinbold.

Both teams will now have a bit of time off before heading to the Section 6A Golf Tournament from May 27-28 in Perham.
