Panthers sweep Bulldogs in PRC action

The Otter Tail Central Bulldogs fell to 0-5 on the season after dropping a doubleheader to Parkers Prairie by scores of 17-7 and 13-3 on Thursday night and a 9-1 game on the road against Border West on Friday.

This week the Bulldogs will host winless Menahga (0-6 on the season) on Tuesday night in a Park Region Conference doubleheader in Battle Lake, before hosting the 4-6 Pillager Huskies on Thursday in another conference doubleheader.

OTC dropped a pair of games in the Park Region Conference to Parkers Prairie by scores of 17-7 and 13-3 on Thursday night.
In the opening game of the day, the Panthers needed just eight hits to score 17 runs and come away with a 17-7 win over the Bulldogs.
The Panthers scored four runs in the first inning, two runs in both the second and third innings, six in the fourth inning and five in the fifth inning to come away with the win.
The big inning for the Bulldogs came in the bottom of the fourth inning when Breanna Bunkowski and Sophie Akerman walked with the bases loaded, while Kenady Cameron and Sia Olson each picked up RBI singles to make the score 12-6.
Cameron and Olson led the way offensively with one hit apiece, while Akerman took the loss in the circle as she went all five innings and gave up eight hits, 17 runs of which 14 were earned and walked 13 batters.
In the second game of the day, Parkers Prairie collected five hits and 13 runs on their way to a 13-3 win over the Bulldogs.
OTC took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Kallie Robinson scored on a wild pitch and added two more runs in the top of the fifth inning on an error and an RBI single by Robinson.
OTC was led offensively by Robinson, Zoie Hochstein and Aubrey Hexum who each collected a hit for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldog pitchers gave up just five hits, but walked 10 batters in the loss. Kenady Cameron took the loss while going 3 1/3 innings and gave up five hits, 11 runs, seven walks and struck out one batter. Brenna Bunkowski pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up no hits and two unearned runs, while walking three.
