The Deer Creek Lions Club will continue to offer gambling services at Wet Woody’s Pub and Grub in Deer Creek.
During its regularly scheduled meeting last Monday night, the Deer Creek City Council acknowledged a letter it received from Wet Woody’s Pub and Grub owners Rod and Cathy Woodward who rescinded the 30-day notice they served to the Deer Creek Lions Club in January to vacate the property.
According to the letter provided to the city council, the Woodwards said “this rescission notice is because it was voted on by Lions members that Korie Gray would not manage our facility for gambling operations. Miram DeCock will control our bar and in-house Lions table gambling operation.”
The letter, which was not dated, stated it was effective immediately and covered pull tabs, electronic pull tabs, bingo, meat raffle and any future activities.
The council said it appears as though the Lions Club made some concessions to remain as the non-profit gambling organization and were glad to see the two sides were able to find common ground.
