Filing closes for annual township elections

0Township elections set for Tuesday, March 10 in OTC

Townships across the state are gearing up for their local board elections which will take place on March 10 for a majority of townships. Local community members from around the area have filed for office and intend to fulfill this civic duty for the next few years.
In Elmo Township, two newcomers to the Board have filed for election. Nicole Aldrich has filed for the two-year Clerk position and Mark Vogt has filed for the three-year Supervisor position.
In Leaf Lake Township, incumbent Peter Bakka is running for another three-year term as Supervisor while incumbent Clerk Dawn Lueders has also filed for another two-year term.
In Deer Creek Township, incumbent Michael Harder has filed for a three-year Supervisor position. Incumbent Clerk Cheri Tumberg has also filed for another two-year term.
In Newton Township, the Board holds its election in November.
In Folden Township, the Board holds their elections in the fall.
In Girard Township, two Supervisor positions as well as the Clerk position are up for renewal. Incumbent Blaine Larson has filed for another three-year term as Supervisor, incumbent Peter Christianson has also filed for another three-year term as Supervisor, and incumbent Clerk Debbie Irmen has also filed for re-election for a two-year term.
In Nidaros Township, incumbent Heath West has filed for another three-year term as Supervisor and incumbent Clerk Debra Biederman has filed for another two-year term.
In Otter Tail Township, incumbent Mark Cordes has filed for another three-year term as Supervisor and incumbent Greg Swanberg has filed for another two-year term as Clerk.
Township residents are asked to attend their local elections according to their individual township’s voting times on Tuesday, March 10.
