Four wrestlers place at 11-team tournament

The Otter Tail Central Bulldogs opened the 2026 portion of their schedule on Friday afternoon when they traveled to the BBE Invite. A total of four wrestlers placed at the meet with Brock Malone and William Schwartz leading the charge with a pair of fourth place finishes. 

Malone took fourth place after falling in the quarterfinals by a pin, before securing a pin over Jase Rohrbeck of Eden Valley-Watkins in the consolation bracket quarterfinals and winning a 2-1 decision over Alex Thomes of Sibley East to advance to the third place match.

In the third place match, Malone fell to Evan Flan of Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Browerville by a 7-0 decision to finish in fourth place.

At 215 lbs., Schwartz secured a pin over Ethan Mattison of MARS in just 1:32, before falling to Conner Koep of Osakis in the semi-finals by an 8-2 decision. In the consolation bracket, Schwartz pinned Kael Frana of MARS at 2:43 to advance to the third place match where he fell by a pin to Vincent Sonczalla of Milaca Faith Christian by a pin at 1:03 to finish in fourth place. 

Also placing for the Bulldogs was Peter Newark in fifth place at 127 lbs. and Keaston Thorpe in sixth place at 145 lbs. 

This week the Bulldogs will travel to Pillager on Thursday night for a triangular, before heading to Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie on Saturday for a tournament.
