The Farmstand has made a name in the greater Henning area for its farm to table freshness and locally sourced items. That local notoriety has turned into national attention after the local restaurant was recently named as the top restaurant in the town of Henning by Restaurant Gurus.

The website takes reviews from Michelin, Frommer’s, Zagat, Zomato, Google, Foursquare, Facebook and compiles them into one overall ranking. The Farmstand was ranked as the highest rated restaurant in Henning through that program.

Brittany Springer, who owns the Farmstand with her husband Stephen, said they didn’t know about the website Restaurant Gurus until a certificate arrived in the mail stating they were the top restaurant in town, but were pleased to receive the award based on customer feedback.

“Everybody knows about Google so it was a surprise when we got this from this place that we didn’t know existed, but apparently people have been going on their website and leaving reviews for our restaurant,” she said.

Springer said the family works hard to provide a quality meal at an affordable price and the latest award they have received shows that customers like what they are doing at their establishment.

“It shows the customers who come in are happy with their experience and their food. It’s just nice to know people are liking what we are doing,” said Springer.

The Farmstand is located in downtown Henning at 602 2nd St. in Henning. For more information call (218) 579-0231.
