One person injured in traffic accident near Pelican Rapids

Sheriff deputies, on Dec. 20, reported one injury in traffic accident at 9:21 a.m. just south of Parkers Prairie. The accident took place at the intersection of Highway 29 and 119th Street.

A Ford Escape was stopped on the south-bound shoulder of Highway 29 while attempting to make a left turn across the highway. A Nissan Murano was traveling south bound on Highway 29 when the vehicles collided.

Receiving non-life-threatening injuries was 33-year-old Shaneece Scott Holland of Alexandria. Assisting sheriff deputies at the scene of accident were members of the State Highway Patrol.

• Stay alert for snowplows, which turn or exit frequently and may travel over centerlines or partially in traffic to further improve road conditions.

• Stay back at least 10 car lengths behind the plow. Don’t drive into a snow cloud.

• Slow down to a safe speed for current conditions.

• Turn on your headlights and wear your seat belt.

• Turn off the cruise control.

• Be patient and remember snowplows are working to improve road conditions for your trip.

One traffic injury 

near Pelican Rapids

Sheriff deputies, on Dec. 13, reported one injury during a traffic accident at the intersection of Highways 31 and 4 near the north side of Lake Lida, east of Pelican Rapids. The accident took place at 12:29 p.m.

A vehicle was traveling east on Highway 4 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, leaving the road, entering a ditch and striking a tree. A passenger sustained a broken ankle and the driver had minor scratches. Both were wearing seatbelts and airbags were deployed. The vehicle sustained heavy damage.

I-94 injuries

A single vehicle accident on Interstate 94, at 8:12 p.m. on Dec. 14 in southwestern Otter Tail County, injured at least two people. Details were not immediately available by the Minnesota State Highway Patrol.
