Tayden Soma etched his name in Otter Tail Central wrestling history on Saturday with his 50th career win. Soma, who took fifth place at the Grant County Invite, is a senior at Henning High School and the second wrestler in as many weeks to win their 50th career match. 

Soma captured fifth place at 152 lbs. after picking up a tech fall over Jace Mueller of BBE in the opening round of the tournament. He fell to Conrad Koll of UNC in the quarterfinals by a 12-6 decision, before working his way through the consolation bracket and eventually defeating Mueller for the second time in the tournament in the fifth place match by a 16-1 tech fall.

Also placing fifth in the tournament was Joshua Larson who dropped his opening round match, but wound up in the fifth place bout against Edwin Escobar of Pelican Rapids where he went on to win by a fall at 2:23.

In addition to Soma and Larson, Peter Newark took sixth place at 133 lbs. and Jack Thormodson took sixth place at 215 lbs. for the Bulldogs. 

This week the Bulldogs will take on Benson at Wadena-Deer Creek on Tuesday night, before traveling to Pierz on Friday for a dual tournament to wrap up the 2025 portion of their schedule.
