The Henning Snow Cruisers will be hosting a snowmobile safety training day for local youth on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 9 a.m. The training will be held at the Henning Festival Grounds.

Certification for is required for all people born after December 31, 1976 and there are two options for youth snowmobile safety courses. There is a traditional course or an online course. Both courses cover snowmobile safety, operations and laws. Individuals must complete one course or the other to become certified.

The Henning Snow Cruisers will be offering the field/test day portion of the certification. 

To attend:

• Youth ages 11-15 (if 11 taking the class the certification becomes valid at age 12)

• Complete the online course

• Certification of completion of online course

• Helmet and riding gear

• Attend the field/test day (snowmobiles will be provided to complete the field test)

The online course can be found at www.snowmobilecourse.com or by going to the Minnesota DNR web page. There is a one-time fee for taking the online course, but the field day portion will be free of charge.
