It may not have been by design, but the Henning City Council made things a bit easier for people to remember the name of its two office staff members. In fact, there is just one letter separating city clerk/treasurer Jenna Kovarik and new deputy clerk Jenny Lynch.
“Jenna and Jenny, you don’t have to go very far to learn my name. You just have to change one letter,” said Lynch with a laugh.
The new deputy clerk joined the City of Henning staff on October 14 and has hit the ground running in learning her new position and the various workings of the community.
After spending the past several years working as a customer service manager at My Kind of Bank First National Bank in Henning, Lynch learned about the opening in the Henning City Office and thought it would be a unique way to be more involved in the community.
“I wanted to be more involved in the community,” said Lynch about her new role. “These opportunities don’t come up very often either.”
Lynch and her family moved to Henning from California in 2022 when her husband Pastor Andrew Lynch answered the call to be the new pastor at Water’s Edge Church in Henning. Since that time the family has been busy raising their two sons and being active in the community through their work with the church and local organizations.
Her new position with the city gives Lynch yet another opportunity to be involved in the community her family calls home.
In addition to learning the ins and outs of her new position, Lynch said she has enjoyed the opportunity to get to help people who stop by the city office with questions or to pay their bills. She said her goal is to provide a bit of positivity and assist individuals with any questions that arise in the City of Henning.
