Local youth had the chance to get a jump-start on the deer hunting season over the weekend for the annual youth deer hunt during the Education Minnesota break from school. Among the local youth who were able to harvest a deer were Gwen Christensen, Preston Schwartz , Houston Schwartz , Shadley Bunkowski and Koli Torgerson. The rifle opener for deer hunting is set for Saturday, Nov. 8 in Minnesota.
