Schwartz scores three touchdowns as Bulldogs edge Raiders 22-16

Otter Tail Central senior William Schwartz had himself a homecoming week to remember last week.
After being crowned as homecoming king on Monday night, Schwartz rushed for three touchdowns and 184 yards on the ground on Friday night in OTC’s 22-16 win over visiting undefeated Lake Park-Audubon.

Quarterback Braxtyn Cameron didn’t need to attempt a pass but was able to rush for a pair of yards during last week’s game against Lake Park-Audubon.
The Bulldogs took an early lead in the first half when Schwartz found the end zone from two-yards out and the two-point conversion was successful to make the score 8-0. The Raiders answered with a rushing touchdown of their own later in the quarter and tied the game at 8-8, where it would stay through the first half.
In the third quarter Schwartz made the score 16-8 when he scored from two-yards out and the two-point conversion was successful to leave the score at 16-8 heading into the fourth quarter.
Schwartz put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter when he scored on a four-yard run to make the score 22-8 when the two-point conversion failed.
LPA scored a late touchdown in the fourth quarter to bring the score to one possession, but the Bulldogs ran out the clock after the ensuing kick off to come away with a 22-16 win.
As a team the Bulldogs dominated the Raiders on the ground with 289 yards rushing, compared to just 87 for LPA. OTC didn’t attempt a pass in the game, with the exception of a pair of two-point conversions. LPA added 159 yards through the air, but the Bulldogs forced a pair of Raider turnovers that proved to be the difference in the game.
Schwartz led the way offensively with 184 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, while Tayden Soma rushed 20 times for 101 yards. Reece Christensen rushed one time for two yards and Braxtyn Cameron rushed three times for two yards in the win.
With the win the Bulldogs improve to 4-0 and will take on yet another undefeated team in Breckenridge on Friday night. The two teams are the last remaining undefeated teams in the section as Breckenridge comes into the game with a 55-34 win over Benson, a 21-12 win over Parkers Prairie, a 42-18 win over Frazee and a 42-0 win over Wadena-Deer Creek.
The Cowboys average 40 points per game on offense, while surrendering just 16 points per game on defense.
OTC averages 25 points per game on offense, while surrendering just 15.5 points per game on defense.
