The annual National Night Out celebration in Henning is set for Tuesday, Aug. 5 at the Henning Festival Grounds. The event will be held from 5-7 p.m.

As summer begins to sing its swan song across central Minnesota, communities across the region will gather for yet another time to celebrate all the things that make a community unique as part of the National Night Out celebration on Tuesday night.

Henning will host its annual festivities at the Henning Festival Grounds and Henning Event Center from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5. National Night Out is an annual event designed to strengthen communities by encouraging citizens to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their community partners. 

There will be a variety of activities planned in Henning throughout the night including a car show, kids quilt show, outdoor movie with free popcorn, free food and Henning HOPE will be collecting winter coats. 

Those who attend the event will have the opportunity to tour police and sheriff vehicles, Henning Fire trucks and Henning Ambulances. There will also be a variety of games, giveaways and door prizes as well. 

Doors open on Tuesday at 4 p.m. with food service, car show, games and giveaways set to begin at 5 p.m. 

There will also be a free car seat checkup from 4-7 p.m. at National Night Out. To schedule an appointment for a car seat checkup call Eric at (218) 770-0239, otherwise stop by the booth at National Night Out. 

National Night Out is a national event that is held the first Tuesday of every August across the country. The goal of the event is to build relationships between neighbors and law enforcement, while bringing back a sense of community.
