A big six run bottom of the sixth inning propelled the Henning North Stars to a 7-4 win over the Sebeka Stingers on Sunday afternoon.
Sebeka led 4-0 after plating one run in the fourth inning and three runs in the top of the sixth inning, before the Henning bats came alive in the bottom half of the sixth inning.
Nick Lindberg led off the big sixth inning with a single, before Jayden Harig was hit by a pitch and Stephen Lindberg loaded up the bases with a walk. Following a strike out for the first out of the inning, Owen Lindberg connected with a fly ball to center field to bring one run across the plate. Austin Koep followed with a two-run single and Oscar Lindberg scored on an error to tie the game at 4-4 with two outs.
The North Stars once again loaded up the bases with two outs when Ayden Olson was hit by a pitch and Garrett Kuhn-Rice was walked with two outs. A pair of runs would cross the plate on an error to give the North Stars their first lead of the game by a score of 6-4. Henning added another run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give it a bit of cushion on the scoreboard.
From there, Kuhn-Rice was able to shut down the Sebeka Stinger hitters as he retired the final 11 hitters of the game in order to come away with the 7-4 win.
The North Stars were led offensively by Olson and Nick Lindberg who each collected two hits apiece.
Kuhn-Rice picked up the win on the mound as he went all nine innings and gave up five hits, four runs of which two were earned, two walks and struck out six hitters.
