Five people to compete for title of Henning Festival Queen

0Coronation set for Friday night after annual parade

Henning Festival Queen candidates include: Isabelle Godding, Breanna Bunkowski, Monica Hansen, Emma Fosse and Alyssa Witt. Coronation will be held on Friday at the Henning Festival grounds.

In one of the largest fields in several years, five local youth will be competing for the title of Henning Festival Queen.
The coronation ceremony will be held on Friday night at approximately 7:30 p.m. following the Henning Festival parade.
Candidates for the Henning Festival Queen include:
Breanna Bunkowski will be a senior at Henning High School and is the daughter of Casey and Gabrielle Bunkowski. She said she is running for the title of Henning Festival Queen to be a role model for younger girls in the community.
“I would like to be the 2025 Henning Area Festival Queen because I would like to be a role model for young girls in the community. I would also like to have the opportunity to grow as an individual in this role,” she said.
Alyssa Witt will be a senior at Henning High School and the daughter of Randy and Charlene Witt. She is running for the Henning Festival Queen to help continue a long tradition of royalty serving in the community.
“I am looking forward to running for the Henning Area Festival Queen because I want to help uphold a tradition that has been part of our community for many years. As well as following in my sisters footsteps as she was crowned queen in 2019,” she said.
Isabelle Godding will be a senior at Henning High School and is the daughter of Isaiah and Krista Godding. She said she has always wanted to run for the title of Henning Festival Queen and is hoping she can be a role model for local youth.
“I am running for Henning Area Festival Queen because it is something I always wanted to do when I was little and I want to be a role model to young girls in the Henning Area,” she said.
Emma Fosse will be a senior at Henning High School and is the daughter of Shawn and Tammy Fosse. She said she has always wanted to be a representative for the community that has deep family ties.
“I want to be Henning Area Festival Queen because I have always dreamed of being the representative for the community where many generations of my family have grown up and where my parents fell in love,” she said.
The final candidate is Monica Hansen who will be a senior at Henning High School and is the daughter of Don and Sandy Hansen. She is running for the title of Henning Festival Queen as a way to help to give back to a community that has supported her through the years.
“I am running for the tittle of Henning Area Festival Queen because I want to give back to the community that has supported me throughout the years. And of course, to be in the parades,” she said.
