Otter Tail County SWAT assisted in the arrest of a Henning man after he briefly refused to exit a residence during the early morning hours of May 20.

Joseph Olson, age 45 of Henning, was arrested after Otter Tail County Dispatch received a call regarding a possible domestic assault taking place in the city of Henning. The call came into dispatch around 12:46 a.m. 

According to a release from the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, once on the scene, Otter Tail County deputies located a female in the driveway with visible injuries. The female was later treated by Henning Ambulance personnel. 

According to the report, contact was made with Olson via telephone and he initially refused to exit the residence. After a short time, Olson voluntarily exited the home and was taken into custody without issue.

He was transported to Otter Tail County Detention Facility where he is reportedly facing charges of domestic assault and prohibited person in possession of firearms.
