Park Region Conference meet set for Tuesday

  One year after rain and cool temperatures made running a bit of a challenge at the Section 6A True Team meet, there may not have been more than a few clouds in the skies on Tuesday afternoon as the Otter Tail Central Bulldogs traveled to Pelican Rapids to participate in the true team meet. The ideal running conditions resulted in 23 personal best marks at one of the most competitive track meets of the season. 

Alysa Witt took 28th place in the shot put at the true team section meet. She finished with a throw of 22’3 1/2”.

Peter Newark took the top spot in the 1600-meter run with a season best time of 4:47.38 and also captured first place in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:55.32. Also capturing the top spot for the Bulldogs was Aidan Heggem who posted a personal best in the trip jump with a jump of 41’11”. 

In the shot put, Billy Durbin finished in second place with a personal best throw of 41’5” to edge teammate William Schwartz who took third place with a throw of 40’5”. In the discus, Max Mekalson posted a personal best with a throw of 139’11” to finish in second place, while Schwartz took sixth place with a personal best throw of 112’6”. 

On the girls side of the track, Kinley Bormann captured first place in the long jump with a jump of 16’5 1/4” and finished in second place in the triple jump with a jump of 33’11 3/4”.

The 4×200-meter relay team also captured first place with a time of 1:48.73. 

Myiesha Antoni took second place in the high jump with a jump of 5’2” and Belle Bormann took third place in the long jump with a personal best jump of 15’6 3/4”. 

As a team both the boys and girls teams finished in fifth place overall. The boys team finished with 723.5 points to trail just Osakis with 936, Staples-Motley with 829.5, United Clay Becker with 825.5 and Pelican Rapids with 723.5. 

On the girls side the Bulldogs finished with 704.5 points to trail just Pelican Rapids with 825.5, Frazee with 795.5, Barnesville with 757.5 and Osakis with 751.5.
