Fergus Falls scored early, but the Henning North Stars chipped away at its early 4-1 deficit to make it a game late. Unfortunately, the North Stars fell to 0-2 on the season with a 5-3 loss to the Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Fergus Falls scored single runs in the first and second inning, while adding a pair of runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-1 lead. The North Stars got on the scoreboard in the top of the second inning when Austin Koep connected with an RBI single.

Nick Lindberg kept the North Stars within striking distance when he connected with a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 4-3 in favor of the Hurricanes. Unfortunately, Fergus Falls added another run in the eighth inning and Henning could get no closer as they fell by a score of 5-3.

The North Stars were led offensively by Nick Lindberg who went 2-5 with a pair of RBIs in the loss. 

Seth Sansness took the loss on the mound as he gave up four earned runs and seven hits over 2 2/3 innings. Lindberg came in and pitched the final 5 1/3 innings in relief as he gave up four hits and one earned run.
