Kindergarten students at Henning School hosted their pen pals from Battle Lake as part of a joint project by the neighboring school districts on May 1. The students completed a number of arts and crafts projects and played a variety of games.
On Thursday, May 1 the Henning kindergartners were able to host their Battle Lake PenPals.

Together the kids listened to a story called “Dear Dragon” about a boy and a dragon who are Pen Pals (but don’t know what each other looks like until they finally meet at the end of the year). Then the classes split up into their classrooms to play with their PenPals. They made friendship bracelets, May Day baskets and had a special snack. They also spent some time playing and getting to know each other more.
Kindergarten teacher Julie Frost said it was exciting to see their excitement when they greeted each other. This was the second time the students have visited, with the Henning students traveling to Battle Lake on April 17 and Frost said the students have really begun to bond.
