Henning junior leads tracksters charge in Pillager

Myiesha Antoni broke a school record and captured first place in the high jump at the John Reimer Classic in Pillager on Thursday night. Antoni, who is a junior at Henning High School, finished with a jump of 5’3” to post a personal best and break a school record in the event. Antoni also took fifth place in the 200-meter dash with a personal best time of 28.31.

Sophomore Kinley Bormann had a solid night on the track as she captured a pair of first place finishes in both the long jump and triple jump. In the long jump the sophomore finished with a jump of 16’7 1/5” to take first place, while posting a jump of 34’5” in the triple jump to also capture the top spot. Bormann also took fourth place in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:04.9.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Belle Bormann, Kinley Bormann, Annabelle Evavold and Brenna Saurer captured first place with a time of 1:50.41. 

In the pole vault, Kaytana Lopez-Moen captured second place with a personal best of 8’1”, while Avaya Condiff took third place with a season best vault of 7’1”. 

In the running events, Belle Bormann took fourth place in the 200-meter dash with a personal best time of 28.03, while Annabelle Evavold took fourth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.73. 

On the boys side, Max Mekalson had a solid day on the track as he captured first place in the discus with a personal record of 137’4”, as well as third place in the 100-meter hurdles.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Matthew Brandborg, Brock Resch, Aidan Heggem and Gabe Lindstrom took second place with a time of 1:38.16.

The Bulldogs fared quite well in the field events with Brock Resch and Braxtyn Cameron taking fourth and fifth place respectively in the high jump with jumps of 5’6”, while Aidan Heggem took second place in the triple jump with a jump of 39’. Gabe Lindstrom and Resch were right on his toes as they both posted a personal best jump of 47’4 1/2” for Lindstrom to help him finish in third place and 34’11 1/2” for Resch as he captured sixth place. 

Lindstrom took fourth place in the pole vault with a season best of 10’4”, while Quinn Condiff took fifth place with a vault of 9’10”. 

As a team the girls took second place with a team score of 111. Becker captured first place with a score of 220.5, while Parkers Prairie was in third place with 96 points, Pillager captured fourth place with 86.5 points, Browerville was fifth with 85 points, Wadena-Deer Creek took sixth with 64 points and New York Mills was seventh with 16 points.

On the boys side Becker captured first place with 235.5 points, while Pillager took second with 147 points. OTC took third place with 85.5 points, Parkers Prairie was fourth with 66 points, Wadena-Deer Creek was fifth with 65 points, Alexandria Community Christian School was sixth with 21 points, New York Mills was seventh with 15 points and Browerville took eighth place with seven points.
