Ten Henning students were carefully selected as one of the outstanding young Minnesota choral musicians from hundreds of applications. Henning music teacher Naomi Horn sent in individual recordings of each student singing a required song and a scale in January and was notified about a week or two later who made it in. The students worked hard to learn six pieces in and out of school, which they performed on Saturday, March 29, in St. Michael, Minn., in front of 2,500 people. Of the 10 that were picked from Henning, eight students decided to participate in the performance. Pictured are Timothy Larsen, Naomi Kodadek, Piper Greenwaldt, Mackenzie Andrews, Nora Mills, Koli Torgerson, Hannah Weller and Emmy Spires. The cost to be a part of this was $135 per person, but between scholarships awarded to a few students and donations from the Henning and Ottertail Lions clubs, it was completely covered for the students.
