Just days after helping his team capture the consolation bracket championship at the Class A state basketball tournament, Henning High School senior is turning his attention to another high school sport that flies under the radar a bit in Minnesota.
Last Wednesday afternoon, Reinbold signed a National Letter of Intent to participate in the rodeo at Bismarck State University. He is the son of Matt and Heidi Reinbold, of rural Henning, and has been participating in high school rodeo for the past two years.
“It’s been a burning passion of mine for a while,” he said about joining the rodeo.
While Reinbold admitted it took some time to convince his parents to allow him to be a part of the high school rodeo, he quickly took to the sport and the cowboy way of life.
“The atmosphere and the cowboy way. Everyone is a cowboy out there,” said Reinbold of what he enjoyed about the rodeo.
In college Reinbold plans to major in farm and ranch management at Bismarck State University. He will also participate on the rodeo team which has a similar fall and spring schedule to the high school rodeo program in Minnesota. He is planning to ride bulls and will have rodeos throughout the region including North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana and Wisconsin.
