Beginner Scrapbooking
Preserve your photo memories – with a fabulous keepsake. You have lots of life’s moments, on your phone, on social media, etc. But when you want to take a look back at a favorite vacation, or when the kids were little, or any occasion, you have to scroll, scroll, scroll to find them. In this hands-on class, you’ll bring 10-20 of your own photos, and create a beautiful, easy scrapbook with the 8×8 paper album supplied. The pages are pre-decorated with color and borders for a nice-looking background for photos. Archival pens and various decorative items will be available to use.
Participants will talk about preserving the memories of your life/your story/your way. Each participant with leave with a completed project to show and share with family.
The class is scheduled for Thursday, April 17 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Henning School Staff Meeting Room. Class fee is $17/person. Pre-register and pay by Thursday, April 10.
Garden Pests – Integrated Pest Management
Learn Integrated Pest Management basics from Master Gardener Julie Adams. The Integrated Pest Management approach helps you identify pests and the problems they create, decide what action to take, and methods you can implement to effectively manage pests. Class is scheduled for Monday, April 14 at 6 p.m. in the Henning Public School Staff Meeting Room. Use entrance #4. Class fee is $5/person. Pre-register and pay by April 7.
Companion Planting
In this class Master Gardener Jean Siirila will discuss why companion planting is a good idea. Some of the things we’ll explore include insects, shade, smells, soil, flavor, roots, depth, and diseases. Class participants will receive a printout containing twenty garden plants that explains what they like or don’t like, amount of sun, rain and soil needed. The class is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29 at 6 p.m. in the Henning Public School Staff Meeting Room. Use entrance #4. Class fee is $5/person. Pre-register and pay by April 22.
Community Garden
Are you interested in having a garden and having the opportunity to grow your own vegetables and flowers, but don’t have the space at your home? Raised bins are available to rent for the summer planting season for $15.
The Henning Community Garden is located at the corner of 2nd Street and Holden Ave., right next to the Methodist Church. Contact Henning Community Education at 583-2927, option 1 to sign up for a bin. Bins are available on a first come, first served basis.
Prom Makeup Live Tutorial
(Participants don’t need to be attending prom to come to this class)
With Celebrity Makeup Artist Mallory Jo.
Come hang out with celebrity makeup artist Mallory Jo as she teaches a fun and flattering prom makeup look for all. You will learn tips and tricks used on the red carpet to create your very own prom look of your dreams. All are welcome to attend whether attending prom or not. This is an educational class full of helpful makeup knowledge to be used for any makeup application you need to look natural, look amazing on camera and to last all day and night. Class is scheduled for Monday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in the Henning School Staff Meeting Room. Class fee is $20. Pre-register and pay by April 7.
