Ava Rousu took second place and four Bulldogs placed at the Bemidji Blue Ox girls wrestling tournament on December 21.
A total of 27 teams from across the state competed in the tournament.
Rousu pinned her way to the championship match as she secured second period falls over Madi Deroscher of Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie in the opening round, before defeating Lydia Wichmann of Moorhead by a pin in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals Rousu defeated Josie Lewis of St. Michael-Albertville by a pin at the 3:54 mark of the match to advance to the championship match.
In the championship, Rousu fell to Avery Herron of St. Michael-Albertville by a 17-0 tech fall to take second place in the tournament.
Also placing for the Bulldogs was Ella Rich, who took sixth place at 124 lbs., Grace Thorpe, who took fifth place at 130 lbs. and Alyssa Witt, who took sixth place at 136 lbs.
