Local kids and parents got a jump-start on holiday crafts on Monday evening during the ECFE and Women of Today “Make and Take” night. Even without snow, everyone was in the holiday mood as parents and siblings helped each other create ornaments out of play-clay, picture frames with a winter scene and many other fun crafts. They even enjoyed a special “cornucopia” snack table. The event was free for the families and was held at the community room at the Henning School. This is the second year that ECFE and Women of Today have teamed up to present this special night for area children.

After considerable investigation of the alfalfa situation during the past few months, which has disclosed a great shortage of seed in the state, a carload of at least 30,000 pounds of genuine Grimm alfalfa seed has been ordered for local growers from the Idaho Grimm Growers’ Association. It is the highest grade seed that can be obtained. As is generally known, alfalfa seed is higher in price this year than it has been heretofore. However, by ordering in a quantity early in the season, the price to the grower will be kept at a minimum. The seed is to be distributed by local dealers, a list of whom will be published later when completed. Seed from this source has the highest recommendation from Minn. Crop Improvement Ass’n. Growers will have no trouble in certifying this seed thus receiving the highest market price for the seed produced from this planting.
