Otter Tail Central junior Peter Newark took 25th place individually at the state cross country meet at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights on Saturday afternoon. 

Newark finished with a time of 16:52.9 to finish just ahead of Grant Nelson of Wadena-Deer Creek with a time of 16:53.9. 

Newark, who is a junior at Battle Lake High School, was the lone state participant for the OTC cross country team this fall. 

Erik Semling of Cotter/Hope was the state meet with a time of 15:23.5, while Redwood Valley took first place as a team with 86 total points. Luverne took second place as a team with a total score of 91 points. 

As a team, Bertha-Hewitt took 14th place with 295 team points.
