The Henning Chamber of Commerce has been re-imagined to a new organization serving a larger portion of the community.

The new Henning Area Community Association came to life just a few months ago as a new organization that allows business members, community members and other non-profit groups to come together unnewder one organization.

“We saw a need for different community groups to come together,” said Brittany Springer, who is the new president of the organization. “It is such a small community and we don’t have a ton of businesses to have a big chamber. We thought this would be a way for community members, businesses and groups to be involved.”

The new Henning Area Community Association is essentially replacing the chamber of commerce and will serve a number of the same purposes, like hosting the Henning Festival, annual bbq and Santa Day, while also allowing people who are not necessarily part of the business community to join the organization.

Springer said one of the comments that have been made in the past was that people wanted to help with some of the events in the community, but weren’t a business owner or involved in the business community. She said the plan is to have a kickoff and membership drive for the new organization in early 2025.

The Henning Area Community Association has a new Facebook page where it will update on community activities and organization events.

Springer said the new organization will be run by a board of directors that meets the fourth Thursday of the month at the Henning Event Center at 5:30 p.m.
