The new teachers have already begun their responsibilities at the school, and each of them said they were excited to join the staff at Henning.

With the new signs, such as the one in rural Henning, finding a particular destination out in the country should be much easier—especially for emergency personnel. Once the system is complete, residents will be required to post their new addresses, which will also be used for mail delivery.

Minnesota could add a 2-cent gas tax to the present state motor vehicle tax and its car and truck owners still would pay less taxes on their machines than those of the average state. Nickels F. Dimes, the gas tax man, addressed the foregoing statement to readers of the Advocate, and said it was based on a survey made by a disinterested organization, “inquiries from many people, as to whether the gas tax will be an added tax or partly take the place of the present tax on automobiles, what the gas tax rate will be and so forth,” said the gas tax man.

All persons during this spell of oppressingly hot weather should take special pains to see to it that their dumb beasts are given all the water they care to drink. You drink more than usual, even though you may be doing nothing, and it is the same way with the poor horse, or dog or any of dumb friends who cannot tell you in so many words when they want a drink of water. Be merciful to them and do not let them suffer for lack of proper nourishment.
