Henning teen opens new mobile vehicle detailing business

Anthony Rousu is living the dream, or at least fulfilling his dream of being a business owner. A junior at Henning High School, Rousu started a new mobile vehicle detailing business this summer that prides itself on customer service and providing a high quality of care across the region.

“I’ve been wanting to start a business for a while so I thought of this and it took off,” said Rousu.

With a portable trailer filled with cleaning supplies, the Henning resident began Rousu Detailing, LLC this summer. He officially opened his doors less-than a month ago and has been pleased with the response so far. He covers a large portion of the area from Otter Tail, Douglas, Wadena and Todd Counties. 

As part of his business, Rousu will clean the exterior and interior of the vehicle. He has several packages to fit the need of the customer, including just an exterior wash that starts at $80 for coupe/sedans, to interior detail packages that includes everything from removing trash to cleaning the seats, carpet and windows that start at $180.

One of the things that Rousu hopes will set him apart from the competition is the fact he is willing to clean the vehicle wherever it is located. There is no need for a person to drop off their vehicle at a business and wait for it to be completed, or need to find a ride home. He said people have liked the ability to leave their vehicle in their driveway and simply come home to find it cleaned and detailed.

“Mobile seems to be more convenient for everyone so they don’t have to wait for 3-4 hours at a shop,” said Rousu. “They can go to work or sit at home and I can do it in their driveway.”

For now, Rousu said he is planning to make his new business venture primarily a summer job, but was open to expanding it more down the road.
