After a brief fling with the month of June over the past few years, Deer Trails Day has moved back to the last Saturday in July once again this year.

While a bulk of the activities are set for Saturday, Deer Trails Day will actually kick off on Friday night with a Deer Creek Shockers baseball game at 7:30 p.m. and a fireworks show beginning at dark near the baseball field

On Saturday downtown Deer Creek will come alive with the craft and vendor fair near the community center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The big parade will get the day going in high gear beginning at 11 a.m. and the first medallion clue will be posted at the community center at 12 p.m.

The petting zoo will go from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., while face painting, balloon animals and Eric’s Dance Band will all get started following the parade at 12 p.m.

Horse drawn trolley rides will be loading by the bank and take guests on a ride through the Deer Creek area, while the youth bean bag tournament will get underway at 2 p.m.

Music will continue throughout the afternoon, while a magician will be performing on the street from 5-7 p.m. and the adult bean bag and all-school reunion will kick off at 6 p.m.

A busy day in Deer Creek will come to a conclusion with a street dance featuring Brianna Helbling and Zach Thomas from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
